It’s a rainy Monday, but that’s just fine with me. It’s a nice reward after a very warm weekend. Mostly I went from the patio to the pool and back again all weekend long. I did manage to get a few projects completed: car cleaning and a dresser refinishing (yes, another one!) were the main ones.
1. A bike made from cardboard? Yes, and it only cost $10 in materials. (We’ll cost the labour hours later, I guess). This is a man after my own heart; when someone said it couldn’t be done, he set out to find out who was right. (Hint: it was him).
2. “Street Stone”. Old statues in new clothes. A collaboration by two french artists, these photos are visually striking. The digitally enhanced photos have the statues dressed in the latest fashion. I guess the best part is that with the right Photoshop skills, these guys can always be dressed in the latest and greatest! More here.
3. Burning Love. Do you love Party Down, Parks and Rec, Ben Stiller or Adam Scott? Or, do you just hate the stupidity of reality television? If so, you’ll LOVE this web series that is a complete parody of the Bachelor/Bachelorette. There are some sweet cameos and some hilariously over the top characters. Start watching it now.
4. Olympic Action (Part 1): Let’s Play Medalball. Fan of Moneyball? You’ll enjoy this article.
5. Olympic Action (Part 2): Which Olympian’s physique is most like yours? I was closest to a male cyclist. I guess we have a common interest, but I’m not taking it as a compliment! Check out the interactive bbc page where you can input your weight and height to see where you fall on the Olympian spectrum.
